BM Calbayog in Philippines

Beth Myriam Calbayog opened in 2011 and is run by a group of lay religious women called Society of Servants of BM, who work together as the Apostles of TLIG and live a consecrated life. The Beth Myriam is their apostolate. It was founded by Rev. Father Julio O. Gaddi Jr and he is the spiritual director and Sister Fe is responsible for the Beth Myriam. They serve the people in the area in several ways.
They are open daily for the street children and other kids or anyone who comes to the house of the sisters. The sisters go around the streets to find the needy and they also do home visits in the neighborhoods and areas further away. They have prayer meetings with meals in several areas and transmit Sunday mass on the radio. They are extending their work to include a Beth Myriam Kids Spirituality Center in a house surrounded by squatters in Balud. Form 2022 they have been supported from the international BM Fund. They feed all ages: infants – elderly, mostly Christian, street children, poor, homeless, beggars, mentally ill on the streets, beggars, elderly with no one to take care of them, abused children, physically ill, persons with mental illness, jobless, victims of typhoon, victims of fire and cohabitation, young mothers, pregnant, single parents. The people praying in prayer groups linked to the BM is the impressive amount of 57 prayer groups. Each prayer group is responsible for the BM work in the area of their area. The name of the groups are: apostleship of prayer for Christian unity. Their vision is to make a Beth Myriam Convent. It will also serve as a temporary shelter for homeless, abandoned children or those seeking refuge or seeking silence and peace through counseling or a retreat. They also hope to introduce a Mama Mary Community School of TLIG. The cost per meal was 1,31 USD. They served 22’884 meals in 2023.
